Thunderbird Youth Academy

In 1993 the Oklahoma National Guard took part in the National Guard Bureau’s “National Youth Challenge Program”, being one of the nation’s first “Pilot” programs. Thunderbird Youth Academy was born out of this initiative. Pastor Melton immediately saw an opportunity to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to our State’s at-risk youth, and immediately began to build a relationship with the leadership of the program. Shortly thereafter, Thunderbird Youth Academy began to bus all of their youth to the services at Pryor ON Fire Teen Ministries. Since those early years, we have been blessed to provide pastoral services to every cadet that enters the Thunderbird Youth Academy. Throughout the years, we have witnessed the hand of Almighty God changing the hearts and lives of these precious boys and girls. We are frequently contacted by past cadets telling us of their passion for and commitment to Jesus Christ that began at Pryor ON Fire Ministries. We continue to love, support, and serve, the cadets of the Thunderbird Youth Academy with God’s love and unwavering commitment.
