WHAT TO EXPECT

It is difficult to attend a new church for the first time. Many people have had bad experiences with new churches, consequently, they have fears regarding going to any new church. These fears keep good people at home when they could be fellowshipping with true Christians in a biblical Church environment. This link is provided for new families that are looking for a biblical church, but want some information regarding what the services are like.

I. Worship: Congregational singing  (top of page)

Pryor Creek Community Church facilitates both traditional hymnody and choruses. The lyrics of the songs we corporately sing to God are important to God and they are to us as well. Each of the songs we utilize is scripturally sound, and Christ centered. The congregation of believers at Pryor Creek Community Church are passionate about worshipping their Savior, and may choose to lift their hands to Him as a sign of surrender and or exaltation. Pryor Creek Community Church facilitates a multi-instrument worship team, consisting of keyboards, guitars, bass guitar, and drums. We do not rely upon these instruments for worship, only employ them as we worship. There are times when we lay down our instruments, only employing our voices in one accord, harmoniously unified. On occasion, one or more believers may kneel while worshipping, drawing near to Christ with a full assurance of faith. Moreover, spontaneous singing may arise from time to time, as God’s Spirit stirs our hearts to a deeper revelation of His love. Expect worship to be passionate, pure, and Christ centered. Children, Teens, and Adults alike are joined together in worship services. To see our service times click here.

II. Offerings: Giving  (top of page)

Pryor Creek Community church does not engage in high pressure pitches for money. We do take up offerings during the service, but there are no gimmicks: nor is there pressure heaped upon people to give; nor is there distasteful preferences given to those who do indeed give. The believers at Pryor Creek Community Church desire to give, and these opportunities are directed at the people of God who have the ability and desire to give. Pryor Creek Community Church is NOT a prosperity gospel church, nor are we affiliated with those in that doctrinal camp. Please read our statement of faith.

III. Sermons: Preaching  (top of page)

The preaching at Pryor Creek Community Church is wholly Christ centered. Pastor Melton is passionate about His Lord and Savior; this is reflected in each sermon. The Sermon usually is from 45 minutes to 1 hour. Yet time becomes incredibly unimportant, compared to the powerful Truth we are blessed to hear each week. We invite you to download some of Pastor’s sermons and see for yourself.

IV. Congregation: The people of Pryor Creek Community Church  (top of page)

The congregation of Pryor Creek Community Church is a mixture of believers from every walk of life. In the congregation are school teachers, students, industry workers, police officers, corporate employees, and others. The common denominator is that each believer is wholly in love with Jesus Christ, and with His people. Snooty religious hierarchy is not present within this precious body of believers. We are a family of faith, and that atmosphere is easily identified as you meet the people. In our distasteful world of dog-eat-dog contention, it is relaxing and precious to be accepted in the beloved. The body of believers at Pryor Creek Community Church stands along-side one another when faced with adversity or hardship. We believe in giving to one another when needs arise, just as in the early church. Life-long friendships are formed and maintained in this local assembly of believers. The most celebrated trait in each believer is their unwavering commitment to the Son of God; Jesus Christ. You will find this body of believers a precious rarity in our troubled world.
